Why I've been gone so long.

The reason I've been gone so long is that I've been animating a comic the frames are all made and you can view them here http://photobucket.com/albums/c399/fizzlecomic/ and my real problem was getting somebody to animate it I have found someone but they don't think it well be done until after new years so heres what I'm going to do, On December 26th the comic well come back and as soon as I have the animated comic animated I'll load it up and to the 24th. So fizzle well be back in a few days.

HAPPY 55th BIRTHDAY CHARLIE BROWN!

Yes I lied about Fizzle Halloween stories starting today, But today there is something else important to acknowledge.

Fifty five years ago peanuts started, It only started in seven newspapers those newspapers being The Washington Post, The Chicago Tribune, The Minneapolis Star/Tribune, The Allentown Call-Chronicle, The Bethlehem Globe-Times, The Denver Post, and The Seattle Times. And if your lucky your library might have microfilm's going that far back so you can see it just as it appeared fifty five years ago.

Charles Schulz wanted to keep the name Li'l Folks but there already was a Little Folks by Tack Knight, Schulz then suggested something along the lines of Charlie Brown or Good Ol Charlie Brown, But the syndicate didn't want a name that centers on one character so Bill Anderson who had never seen the strip sent in ten names Peanuts being one of them ( Interestingly enough he is also the one who named the place that The Howdy Doody Show audience would sit peanut gallery) Schulz Hated it he said "It was the worst title ever thought up for a comic strip," He thought the title "confusing," with "no dignity." and as if to add insult to injury he received letters from fans that read along the lines of, "I love this new strip with Peanuts and his dog." Luckily that didn't last.

From Monday, October 2, 1950, until the final strip appeared on Sunday, February 13, 2000 there were a total of 17,897 strips: 15,391 daily strips, and 2,506 Sundays. Through that he only took a single vacation from November 27 through December 31, 1997 Peanuts was translated into at least twenty seven languages and still five years after ending it is in over 2000 newspapers, On may 27th the day Schulz was to get the first ever comic strip lifetime achievement award 147 comic paid tribute plus countless web comics the largest collective comic project ever quite a tribute

And now to leave you with your with something scary as a lead up to Fizzle Halloween Stories: Snoopy was originally going to called Sniffy.
